Electronic Device Policy
Hello families,
Our mission at Eagle River High School is to build a focused, respectful, and connected school community that supports the long-term growth of every student. In alignment with this mission—and in response to recent school board policy and state legislation regarding cell phone use in schools—ERHS has implemented an “Away All Day” policy.
Now that the school year is underway, we want to reinforce expectations around this policy. Personal electronic devices are not allowed to be used on campus during school hours, including passing periods and lunchtime.
Students are expected to keep all personal electronic devices at home, in their locker, or in their car during the school day. ERHS staff are also modeling these expectations.
If families need to reach their student during the school day, they may contact our front office. If students need to contact home, they may request to use the designated student phone provided in the front office. We encourage families to log in to ParentConnect to ensure all contact numbers are current.
We ask families to continue having conversations with their student(s) about this policy and its importance.
Disciplinary consequences for non-compliance are as follows:
- 1st offense: Discipline referral, guardian contacted, student may pick up the device from security at the end of the day.
- 2nd offense: Discipline referral, guardian contacted, guardian must pick up the device.
- 3rd offense: Discipline referral, guardian contacted, guardian must pick up the device, and progressive discipline will be determined by administration.
By keeping all personal electronic devices away during the school day, we promote academic success, encourage meaningful social interactions, and foster habits that prepare students for lifelong learning, strong relationships, and personal excellence.
Thank you for supporting this policy and for sharing your children with us.

Principal, ERHS
